Over the years I have put together quite a few mixes. At first I hosted them here on my blog then later moved them to soundcloud. Unfortunately Soundcloud is getting far too expensive these days to host mixes so instead I have moved them all over to Mixcloud where they are hosted for free.

Artificial - Argon Isotope

I decided to take a little break from the coding and over the past few evenings I have put together a new mix.

Out of all of the mixes I have done Argon is probably my favorite and was pretty much the soundtrack to my  trip to Vietnam in 2011. As that was two years ago now I thought it was time I refreshed and updated it with the my current personal favorites in the tech and progressive house / trance world.

Argon is a lighter element than Iridium and hence the tracks have a smoother simpler progressive sound. Because this mix is in the same vein as Argon I have decided to call it Argon Isotope.

Newmix - Second Harmonic

Its been quite a while since I last made a mix. The last one Second Life was a collection of my favorite dubstep and bass tunes at the time. Since then the genre has grown and diversified and other sub-genres have opened up. Im really into some of these new sounds that involve more melody and progression but keep that rough bassey sound that popularizes dubstep.

So I thought it was time to gather some of these tracks together and lay them together in a mix. It took a little longer than expected as I used Ableton Live for the first time to make the mix. I usually use a very basic program called Mixmeister but have often found it lacking, so for this mix I decided to take the plunge and learn Live.

The mix is called Second Harmonic because it has that moody melodic sound that I love and build my three Harmonics mixes around but it is also more aggressive rather than chilled sound like last dubstep mix Second Life. I sprinkled it with a few clips from one of my favorite movies, points for guessing what is it ;)

Artificial - Second Life

Just finished and uploaded a new mix I have been putting together over the last couple of weeks. The mix is mostly Dubstep with some Drum'n'Bass thrown in to mix it up a bit. The tracks are mostly all favourites I have had on repeat in the last 6 months.

What I have tried to do with these two mixes is present two sorts of music that are really floating my boat at the moment. This second part is a heavyer than the first, encompassing trance, electro and progressive.

I've been getting into the whole Dubstep quite abit recently. Its probably just a phase I know, but while im enjoying it all so much at the moment I thought I would chuck down some of my favourites into a mix.

Artificial - Harmonics (Part 3)

Well its been a while since I have made a new mix, but I have been collecting tracks for it for a while. This one came together fairly quickly actually, about two days worth of composition and then a few variations until I was happy with it. I decided not to add any movie samples to this one to keep it nice and simple, got alot of other projects on at the moment! Im not even sure if people actually like those movie samples tho, let me know if you do!

I have called it Harmonics (Part 3) as the third instalment in my Harmonics series is long overdue and I felt that it just kinda felt like a Harmonics Mix.

New Mix: Coalescence

Wow! Well this one was a hell of alot easier to make than the last one.

Instead of trying to tell a story with film samples and a large overarching theme I have instead just let this one naturally progress and take its course. The consequence of this, I think anyway, the transitions are alot softer and more natural giving a good easy listen.

I have called this one "Coalescence" as it contains a rather different mixture of tracks that I have coalesced together. It still has that chilled-downtempo IDM-esq sound that I love so much at the moment with tracks by Jon Hopkins, Trifonic but I have also included some other tracks I have acquired on my eclectic audio adventures.

Anyways I hope you enjoy it, I think its probably my best mix since my Harmonics 1 and 2.

New Mix: Artificial - Intelligence

Finally, finally I have decided to say sod it and stop tinkering with this god damn mix! I have been making and remaking this thing for the best part of a year but I can still see the rough edges. Its been driving me quite literally mad! Having said that however I have enjoyed making it, else I wouldn't do it... right?

Anyway the idea was to have a two part mix, a more downtempo one and this one (coming soon). I have tried to tell a story with this mix, using both samples from a certain famous movie and through the track selection and progression. I have gone for a deeper darker sound than my usual harmonics light and easy to listen to sound. I dont imagine this one will be as popular with most people but I hope some will enjoy it!

Artificial - Future Harmonics

Its been quite some time indeed since i have released a mix so i decided to make another one. This one is a culmination of several weeks work and im pretty proud of it.

Its hard to describe which genre this mix falls into, as the name suggests i was going for a harmonics style mix but with a more edgey, IDM type feel to it, not sure if i succeeded, but oh well.

Didnt manage to fit all the tracks i wanted into this one so they may be a simmilar mix on the way in the near future :)

Artificial Harmonics ( part 2 )

Well its a long time in the coming but here it is, the second part of my Harmonics series. I started this thing about four months ago and only now have i found the time to complete it. Its a little shorter than the previous version mainly because i ran out of tracks that fit the flow of the set. Im extremely happy with the first half but the second half, im not entirely sure, give it a listen and leave me a comment of what u think :)

This one has alot more production work on it with clips from two movies and editing of tracks and effects added here and there. Also there are alot of tracks on there from free music producers, to hear more music from groups such as LEGO and Try^D check out Jamendo.
